Why vitamin C ascorbates?
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. Three centuries ago, through a now-famous experiment, a Scottish doctor discovered that eating citrus fruit could prevent scurvy in sailors. It took several more years for the active component – ascorbic acid – to be defined. Vitamin C exists in two forms, the acidic ascorbic acid form (that occurs in our food and the most common form of vitamin C) and the sweet variation derived from that, ascorbate. Ascorbate complex results from binding ascorbic acid to minerals. This is also known as the buffered or deacidified form of vitamin C. This form is gentler on the teeth and stomach.
Humans are one of the few mammals unable to produce vitamin C. We therefore depend on vitamin C from our food, particularly fruit and vegetables. It is sometimes difficult to eat sufficient quantities of these, or the body needs additional vitamin C. It can then be beneficial to supplement this extensively researched vitamin.
Vitamin C has a proven positive effect in many areas and on many processes in our body. It contributes to the normal function of the immune system and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. It also contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal psychological function.
Few people know that vitamin C also contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, skin and the gums .
The benefits of Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets
Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets contain 500 mg of vitamin C. The break lines allow this dose to easily be halved (250 mg) or even divided into four (125 mg). Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets are therefore particularly suitable for children and other people for whom a lower dose is appropriate. In terms of composition of the chewable tablet, it is essential that the vitamin C contains the deacidified form, so that the chewable tablet is gentler on the teeth. Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablet contains natural orange flavouring and therefore has a pleasant, bitter-sweet taste.
This vitamin C chewable tablet contains mineral ascorbates and therefore also provides a small amount of the minerals magnesium and zinc. Upwards of 2 chewable tablets a day (60 mg), magnesium contributes to normal psychological function and helps to release energy from fat, carbohydrates and proteins. Zinc is also a valuable supplement. Zinc contributes to normal psychological function and contributes to normal acid-base metabolism.
We also add citrus bioflavonoids and acerola, to keep the composition of our vitamin C-500 chewable tablet as natural as possible. Acerola is a type of fruit, also known as the West Indian cherry. The yellow/orange flesh is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C. Foods that are high in vitamin C, including acerola, contain natural bioflavonoids. These plant-derived compounds contribute significantly to the bright colours of fruit and vegetables and protect the plant against light, oxidation and heat. Every chewable tablet contains 100 mg of acerola and 38 mg of bioflavonoids.
High quality due to the deacidified form of Vitamin C
For Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets we only use vitamin C as ascorbate complex. This is also known as the buffered or deacidified form of vitamin C. This contains mineral ascorbates of vitamin C and the vitamin C is bound to the minerals magnesium, potassium and zinc. Ascorbic acid is no longer present in the chewable tablet. The ascorbate form of vitamin C does less damage to tooth enamel.
Suitable for daily supplementation of vitamin C
Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets provide a solution for people who find it difficult to swallow tablets or capsules. The chewable tablets are also a welcome change from Vitamin C-1000 Ascorbate Complex and Vitamin C polyascorbate powder. The chewable tablets provide a source of vitamin C that is easy and flexible to dose and non-acidic. Bonusan Vitamin C-500 Chewable Tablets are therefore particularly suitable for supplementing vitamin C in children. As the chewable tablets contain sweeteners, this product is not suitable for children under three years of age.
Vitamin C is a nutrient with a very wide range of uses. For example, it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin and it contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. But vitamin C is best known for its contribution to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin C also contributes to maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise.
